UMBC Grabs First Conference Win

There are few players in the country as hot as UMBC's Darryl Proctor right now. The senior forward poured in 26 points on 12-of-14 shooting to lead the Retrievers to their first America East win of the season, a 61-59 victory over Maine at RAC Arena Saturday night. Proctor, who also had 8 rebounds, is averaging 27 point, 8 boards and shooting 65 percent over his last 3 games. Rich Flemming added 11 points and grabbed 7 caroms, while Jay Greene dished out a season-high 11 assists. Mark Socoby tallied a team-high 20 for the Black Bears who dropped to 1-2 in the league.

In non-league action, Hartford fell at Yale 71-63. Jaret von Rosenberg all scorers with 24 points and grabbed a career-high 8 boards, while Andres Torres contributed 14 points and had a career-high five steals. Binghamton had its six-game win streak snapped as Utah Valley downed the Bearcats 80-70 in Orem, Utah. Emanuel Mayben and D.J. Rivera paced Binghamton with 17 points apiece.
