The Terriers rode a career-high 25 points from freshman Jake O'Brien to a 82-65 win at UMBC Monday night. UMBC came out on fire, jumping out to a 16-6 lead, but the Terriers bounced back with a 25-3 run, holding their opponent without a point for over 8 minutes. John Holland added 22 points, while Scott Brittain had 16 and was a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line. Darryl Proctor scored a game-high 18 points for the Retrievers, while Jay Greene had 17 and 5 assists.
The Seawolves earned their league-best 8th road win of the season with a 70-59 victory at Maine Tuesday. SBU has won 4 of its last 5 league games after starting 1-4. Muhammad El-Amin poured in a game-high 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Demetrius Young continued to be a spark off the bench with 17 points and 6 boards. Sean McNally had a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Black Bears, while Gerald McLemore added 14.
