Albany Improves to 8-4, Hartford Hangs With No. 22 Baylor

Anthony Raffa scored 15 points and added six rebounds as Albany won at St Francis (N.Y.), 68-56. Brian Connelly and Will Harris each added 13 points. The Great Danes are 8-4, the program’s best start in its Division I history. Among those in attendance at the Pope Center in Brooklyn was Jamar Wilson, one of five players in America East history to win the Kevin Roberson Player of the Year award multiple times. Can you name the others? Wilson is at home in the Bronx while on break from his professional team in Belgium.

Hartford trailed No. 22 Baylor, 56-53 with 8:02 left before the Bears went on an 18-2 run en route to a 74-59 win. Jaret von Rosenberg enjoyed his ‘homecoming’ game with 19 points. Von Rosenberg, who was born in Waco and lived there until second grade, had between 40-50 relatives in attendance.
